Indications / Uses
Severe acute & chronic pain. Painful diagnostic or therapeutic measures.
Dosage / Direction for Use
Oral Adult & adolescent >14 yr 1 cap/tab. Inj Adult & adolescent >14 yr 50-100 mg IV, IM, SC. Childn from 1 yr 1-2 mg/kg. Max: 400 mg.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Acute intoxication w/ alcohol, hypnotics, analgesics, opioids or psychotropic drugs.
Special Precautions
Myasthenia gravis, renal & hepatic impairment, head injury, increased intracranial pressure, shock, resp disorders, impaired consciousness, w/drawal syndrome. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <12 yr.
Side Effects / Adverse Reactions
Sweating, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, fatigue.
Interactions
CNS depressants, MAOI, carbamazepine.
