A hysteroscope is a tool consisting of a long, thin tube mounted with a camera and light that is used to examine the inside of the uterus. Images are displayed on a monitor and the tube can be manipulated to look at different areas of the uterus. During surgery, tools to remove growths, take biopsies, or insert birth control can be guided in. Images may also be recorded for future reference.
